When I sat down to map this out, I asked myself:
“What’s the one drill I always start with?”
It took a second—because I play every day—but the answer was obvious:
Dinking at the kitchen line.
Every session. Every time.
We worked on Dominating the Dink in Lesson 1—placing shots in the corners, not the center.
It’s simple but foundational. I open every practice with that exact drill.
Today’s drill builds on it.
We’re diving into when to add spin and when to keep your dinks flat—a skill that helps you add variety and stay unpredictable at the net.
These drills follow the same order I use in real sessions, so each one builds on the last.
A quick reminder:
Repetition is everything. When a shot becomes automatic, you free your brain to think tactically.
Even short drills—done right—build the muscle memory you need.
✅ Aim for at least 5 minutes per drill.
And when you think you've done enough—do a little more.
